Heritage Explorers

It is easy to enjoy a heritage break at The Granary at Fawsley. Guests are within an hour’s drive from some of England’s most historic locations. The Granary at Fawsley itself is a historic gem. The main hotel is a Grade II Listed building, complete with carefully renovated 17th Century features, still visible today. From your room in The Granary at Fawsley, you are footsteps away from the country estate that belongs to Fawsley Hall – once host to Queen Elizabeth the first. Emerging from one of the many pathways that carries walkers from The Granary through the Fawsley Estate’s private grounds, you can see the splendour of the Hall’s Tudor and Gothic architecture in impressive detail.

A rich trove of treasures awaits those willing to drive a short distance from The Granary – in some cases, no more than ten minutes. Like Warwick Castle, Canons Ashby House, Stowe Gardens, and the imposing stately home of Althorp – the official residence of The Earl and Countess Spencer, and family home to Diana, Princess of Wales.

Oxford is reassuringly close, and Cambridge not far to the East. As the crow flies, we are just twenty miles from the birthplace of the most famous Englishman of all time: Stratford-upon-Avon, home to the young William Shakespeare.
