Our 5 tips for finding your perfect wedding venue…

1. Start by considering the location. Unless you want a destination wedding, it makes sense for the venue to be accessible to the majority of your guests, and you of course! You might love a venue but if it’s far from home that can make viewings and menu tastings tricky.

2. We’d recommend searching by the type of venue you’d like. We’re a barn wedding venue and always check that’s what the couple are looking for before they come to look round. All of the main listings sites such as www.hitched.co.uk and www.bridebook.com group venues by type, so they are a good place to start to see what’s available in your area.

3. For venues that you like the look of, visit their website and social media to get a good feel for what they offer, whether they’re in budget and if they vibe with you. Trust your gut on this!

4. Don’t view too many venues. 3 is a good number. Pick a couple that you love the look of then throw in a wildcard. Sometimes you don’t know what you want until you see it.

5. Ask friends for recommendations, reputation is everything in the wedding industry so if a venue is good, people will tell you! We’re biased, but hopefully they’ll mention The Granary at Fawsley!
