CIVIL CEREMONY

A civil ceremony is a legally binding marriage ceremony with no religious elements. Many couples opt for a civil ceremony as it allows them to really personalise their day with their own choice of music, readings and even vows.

The Granary is licensed for civil ceremonies in both the Fawsley Suite (seating up to 80) and the Barn (seating up to 200).

Ceremonies are booked and performed by a certified registrar and it is the responsibility of the couple to arrange this as soon as you have booked a provisional date with us in order to secure your desired ceremony date and time. Bookings are taken up to 2 years in advance and can be made online.

You can also contact Northamptonshire Registration Services on 0300 126 1000. Please note there is a separate fee payable to the Registration Service.

For further information about civil ceremonies the Northamptonshire Registration Services FAQ page is very helpful.

WEDDING RECEPTION

Upon arrival you’ll be greeted by your personal wedding co-ordinator who will be ready to welcome you with a glass of Champagne. Typically you’ll then have a drinks reception either on our gorgeous lawn and terrace or inside the main building in inclement weather. This gives you the chance to mingle with your guests and allows lots of opportunity for photographs.

CHURCH CEREMONY

For couples hoping for a religious ceremony, there is the possibility of a church wedding at St Mary’s, which is located within the Fawsley estate about half a mile away. The 13th Century, Grade 1 listed building is steeped in history and is a gorgeously pretty venue for a wedding ceremony.

Charwelton church is another option for couples seeking a traditional church ceremony. It is located in the fields about a mile from Charwelton village along a gated road, and is just a short distance from The Granary.

Please note that we cannot organise a church ceremony for you.

The law states you must contact the church yourself, so if this option appeals to you then please enquire via the St Mary’s Church at Fawsley website.
